Walk Run Soar is a podcast about the intersection of faith and running. We help runners and walkers who lack purpose with their exercise routine (or lack of routine) and long to experience God in a more meaningful way while they walk or run. We are here to run with you, to pace you, and to inspire you with weekly devotionals, scripture, interviews with Christian runners and walkers, and quick coaching tips. Shawn is a marathon and triathlete coach, as well as a 6-time Ironman. Dorina is an avid mommy runner, Track & Field Coach, and published author.
Today we are interviewing Emily Allen, who lives in Seattle with her husband and 7 kids. After a near-death experience, Emily started walking to move toward healing and wholeness. She’s walked more than a thousand miles this year with her family and found a new spiritual practice. On her walks, Emily connects with God.
Emily is also the founder of KindredMom.com and an author. Her new collaborative book is Strong, Brave, an Beautiful: Stories of Hope for Moms in the Weeds available here: https://amzn.to/3d7EoNa .
We chat with Emily about:
-How she started making walking a daily habit
-How she keeps track of 7 kids + 1 husband while walking
-How walking is more than just exercise to her.
